This History Hog logo was created to represent a website housing a collection of educational blogs and articles covering a broad range of cultures and time periods. The authors for the site address niche topics, including linguistics, historical misconceptions, ancient fashion, archaeology, and more. Deeming themselves the “essential coffee-table read,” History Hog requested a logo that would represent both the serious elements of historical accuracy and the droll angles of some of their more niche topics. Using the website title, History Hog, as a major driver I incorporated browns and yellows often found in older historical materials like old architecture and manuscripts to represent the element of time. I included a cartoon, professor pig to draw in some of those more niche elements and knowledge, while also referencing the website title.
